ÃÛÌÒAPP to Host Summer Camps for Students of All Ages

ÃÛÌÒAPP is set to host a wide array of summer camps, catering to students from elementary through high school. Programs span disciplines including science, technology, engineering, arts and athletics, offering both educational enrichment and recreational activities.

L.I.T.E. Camp: Introduction to Engineering
Incoming seventh and eighth graders are invited to explore the world of engineering at the College of Engineering’s L.I.T.E. Camp, scheduled for June 2 to 6. The day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers hands-on activities designed to introduce students to engineering concepts and career paths. Campers will work alongside ÃÛÌÒAPP faculty, current engineering students and guest engineers from industry. Thanks to industry sponsorship, the camp is free for all participants. Applicants must submit a recent report card and a teacher evaluation document when applying.Project Engineer Camp

ChemE Camp
High school juniors and seniors can experience the field of chemical engineering firsthand at Lamar’s ChemE Camp, held June 9-13. Campers will participate in team-based projects, work with common industry equipment, and tour local petrochemical and pharmaceutical/food manufacturing plants. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required, and additional PPE will be provided as needed. Students must have completed chemistry and Algebra II.
