Online industrial engineering program featured
ÃÛÌÒAPP’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Department Chair Brian Craig were recently recognized on a website focusing exclusively on online engineering education programs.
Craig is featured in a post “Influential Industrial Engineering Professors Who Teach Online.”
The list is comprised of professors and universities recognized for their contributions in the field through online education.
The list can be found at
Lamar’s industrial engineering program went from offering relatively little online to the last two years of the degree having a fully online option two years ago, said Craig, a professional engineer who holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Texas A&M University.
ÃÛÌÒAPP launched its online 2+2 program in industrial engineering in fall 2014. Today, around 25 percent of industrial engineering majors at ÃÛÌÒAPP are completing their BSIE degree online. ÃÛÌÒAPP also offers the Masters of Engineering Management program and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology as online programs.
“Our programs continue to grow because they are meeting the needs of students who are working, who live outside the area, or who want to complete their degrees in four years even though they are participating in full time internships or co-ops,” Craig said.
Recognition like this listing helps ÃÛÌÒAPP reach individuals who can benefit from online programs, Craig said.
