KVÃÛÌÒAPP: Rewind in Pictures

K-V-L-U, translated as The Voice of ÃÛÌÒAPP, first went on the air on April 30, 1974. On that day, campus and community leaders gathered for the inaugural broadcast followed by the first program to be aired on KVÃÛÌÒAPP, the flagship news magazine from National Public Radio, All Things Considered.

Since first going on the air, KVÃÛÌÒAPP has expanded to include an eclectic 24/7 schedule of commercial-free news, music and local features with a mission to educate, enlighten and entertain listeners. The station remains an integral part of the Southeast Texas and ÃÛÌÒAPP communities.

This exhibition of archival photographs and memorabilia highlighted the early days (and people) of KVÃÛÌÒAPP long before computer automation, digital media and Internet streaming.
