  • Step 1 - Activate your LEA Account

    Your Lamar Electronic Account (LEA) is your primary student email address and log in to a number of resources at ÃÛÌÒAPP, including your Student Portal, myScholarships, and Housing Application (StarRez).

    To activate your LEA, you will need to set up security questions, install two-factor authentication and create a password. 

    To get started, you will need:

    • LEA username and LamarID – located in student acceptance letter and post-acceptance email
    • Laptop/Computer
    • Mobile Phone – to complete DuoMobile setup, student mobile phone must be used.

    Retrieve Temporary Password

    1. Visit and click . Use your LamarID and PIN (default is your birthday - MMDDYY)
    2. Click Personal Information
    3. Click Change Your PIN OR Recover LEA Username and Password
    4. Click Give me a temporary password. Screenshot or write down temporary password – it is case-sensitive.
    5. Click Ok. You will now be redirected for the next step.

    Setting up security questions and DuoMobile (student mobile phone required)

    1. using your LEA username and temporary password.
    2. In the Welcome popup, click the Click Here button.
    3. Select, answer and confirm 4 security questions and click Next.
    4. On your mobile device, download the DuoMobile app.
    5. Click Next to begin the LEA 2-Step (Duo) enrollment. 
    6. Click Start Setup.
    7. Follow on-screen instructions
    8. Click Continue to Login. Select Send me a Push and approve on phone. This step confirms operation of LEA 2-Step. Learn more about LEA 2-Step.

    Set up LEA Password

    1. Click Change Password at the top.
    2. Enter your temporary password in Old Password
    3. Enter new password following password guidelines

  • Step 2 - Log into your Student Portal

    Once admitted, the serves as the hub for all next steps needed to complete to enroll at ÃÛÌÒAPP.

  • Step 3 - Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

    Complete the Scholarship Application:ÃÛÌÒAPP awards millions in scholarships every year to students. Access to get started. All students are encouraged to complete the General Scholarship Application and College Application. These applications take only a few minutes to complete and matches students to dozens of scholarships they qualify for.

    Complete the FAFSA: Students can complete the FAFSA through . Use School Code: 003581 to have your financial aid information sent to ÃÛÌÒAPP upon completion of the form.

    Complete the TASFA: Students classified as Texas residents who are not eligible to apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA are encouraged to .
    Do not complete both the FAFSA and TASFA.

  • Step 4 - Confirm your TSI Status

    The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is mandated by Texas law to ensure that students are ready for college-level courses in the areas of mathematics, reading and writing.

    Already taken the TSI?

    Not sure if you are exempt?
    Note: TSI exemptions are special cases and not all students will qualify for one. Those that do not qualify will need to schedule a TSI test.

  • Step 5 - Apply for Housing

    Make the most of your time at ÃÛÌÒAPP by living on campus! Cardinal Village is made up of 5 residence halls full of apartment-style housing. With two floor plans to choose from, you will only have one or two roommates (that you can choose), only sharing the kitchen, living room, and bathroom!

    Is this your first year in college? We cannot wait to have you on campus! All first-year freshman are required to live on campus and select a meal plan. Don't worry! We have multiple, special events planned to make your time at Lamar memorable. 

    Do you live close to campus? While we enjoy having our Cardinals living on campus, we understand if you decide to commute to campus. Students who live within 60 miles of campus may qualify for a housing exemption.

    All first-year students are required to complete either a housing application or an exemption in their Housing Portal. Use your LEA to log in to your portal and complete this step.

  • Step 6 - Attend New Student Orientation

    Registration for Orientation is open!

    The New Student Orientation Track is designed for First Time College (FTC) students enrolling in classes during the Summer or Fall after they graduate high school. Students may register up to two guests for the Parent and Family Orientation Track that is offered during the same time as the student’s orientation session. Attending New Student Orientation is required for all FTC students and will appear on your admissions checklist.

  • Step 7 - Send Records and Transcripts

    All admitted students will need to submit various records and transcripts to complete their enrollment to ÃÛÌÒAPP.

    Records

    • Bacterial Meningitis – All new and returning students under the age of 22, who attend on-campus classes, must submit:
      • Proof of vaccination against bacterial meningitis OR
      • Meet criteria for an exemption
    Transcripts
    • Final official high school transcript once graduated.
      • Students will not be able to register for subsequent semesters if the final transcript has not been received.
    • Official college transcripts (if applicable)
      • If you previously took college classes and have not yet sent ÃÛÌÒAPP your official transcripts.

    Test Scores

    • Credit by Exam Scores (if applicable) – Send official scores such as AP, CLEP, IB, etc. to ÃÛÌÒAPP directly from the testing agency.
      • You’ll get an email notification after your credit has been applied to your ÃÛÌÒAPP record.
